Q.   Do we have Public Liability insurance?

A. Yes. We have a $20,000,000 Public Liability Insurance which covers GO Kiteboarding Australia wide. 

 

Q.   Is it difficult to learn kiteboarding?

A. No. Most people can get up on the board during the 5 hour "Get Riding Course" with no previous watersport experience. 

 

Q.   Do I need to be fit and strong to learn kiteboarding?

A. A moderate amount of fitness is required for kiteboarding as with any sport. Only a small amount of strength is required as our instructors select the right equipment for you every lesson taking into account weather conditions and your experience.

 

Q.   Can I do the whole kiteboarding course in one day?

A. We recommend that the 5 hour "Get Riding Course" is divided into 3 sessions over 3 different days so that you get the most out of your course. Students can usually manage 2 hours of lessons per day.

 

Q.  What Do I need to bring to my lesson?

A. Make sure you bring water, sunscreen and beachwear. For lessons in the water you'll also need a towel and bathers - we'll provide a wetsuit as part of your package, but you're welcome to bring your own. All kiting and safety equipment is provided.

 

Q.   Which beaches are best for kiteboarding in Victoria?

A. Visit the KBV web site for up to date information on kiting locations.  

 

Q.   What wind conditions are best for learning at St. Kilda's West Beach?

A. Our favoured conditions for teaching at St. Kilda is 16 - 20 kts from a S, SW or W'ly direction.

 

Q.   Is there any "Right of Way" rules for kiteboarders on and off the beach?

A. Yes. It is very important that all kiteboarders know the right of way rules to be safe. See KBV web site for rules.

 

Q.   What happens if I have a lesson booked and there is no wind?

A. We ask students to call 1 hour before the scheduled lesson start time to confirm if the wind conditions are suitable for the lesson.  If the lesson is cancelled or stopped midway through due to lack of wind we reschedule lesson and give you a credit for the remaining time at no cost to you.

 

Q.   How long are lesson and gift vouchers valid and can they be transferred?

A. Lesson and gift vouchers are valid for 12 months and are transferrable.  Gift and lessons vouchers are not redeemable for cash.
